Good thing it’s a sunny day, because a good chunk of the eastern end of downtown Boise is out of power.
According to Idaho Power, roughly 988 customers are affected by the outage, which spans Warm Springs to the Boise river and the Old Idaho Pen to Capitol Boulevard. At this point, they have no idea when they might get things back up and running.

I am a fairly recent iPhone convert. I held out a long time due to the price tag and syncing compatibility issues.
I like my iPhone. But I am not happy about the recent news at TechCrunch.com regarding the restriction of "overtly sexual content." I vehemently defend our First Amendment and iPhone apps are examples of creative expression.

Boise Courts Google for Real High Speed Internet

I just tested our bandwidth here at BWHQ and got a pokey 1.58 megabit per second download speed. We use Fiberpipe for our ISP and happen to be across the street from a Qwest switching station.
A recent commenter at boiseweekly.com suggested the Japanese get more like 28 megabits per second.
Google wants to build an experimental 1 gigabit per second...
